A Fun Song for Fall

The importance of interactive music for your child's development is detailed in the 101 Days of Joyful Babyhood program. Interactive music is when we do more than just listen: we sing, play instruments, dance, do actions, tap out the rhythm... Plus, enjoying music with your little one brings you mental health benefits, too!

Below is one of my favourite children's Autumn songs that I picked up when my son was a tot. It lends itself easily to actions, or you can use real or paper leaves to go along with the words (more on that in the video):

Up on the Treetop

sung to the tune of "Up on the Rooftop"

Up on the treetop in the Fall,

Leaves are changing, watch them all.

Red and orange, yellow and brown,

Pretty soon they'll all fall down.

Crunch, crunch, crunch,

Walk through the leaves,

Crunch, crunch, crunch,

Walk through the leaves!

Up on the treetop in the Fall,

Leaves are changing watch them all!

Enjoy your time connecting with Nature as you sing this simple, happy song!
